Darlene Berger was born in Queens, New York in 1978. By the age of six , Darlene knew she wanted to be a cartoonist and painter. With that thought in mind, Darlene aspired to and graduated from New York City's specialized high school, The High School of Art and Design. She further pursued her art education by attending Hofstra University and New York University while majoring in Fine Arts Painting with a minor in animation. A lover of art in all forms, Darlene Berger has used the great museums of New York, San Francisco, Paris and London as her personal art classrooms. While visiting the Louvre and Musee D’Orsay, she fell in love with the works of two great Impressionists, Paul Cézanne and Vincent Van Gogh and adopted their techniques. Currently Darlene loves to paint life as she knows it. She enjoys the artistic mediums of Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence and Elizabeth Catlett. Darlene Berger's journey to become a world class artist has been at times challenging and complicated, but it has also been a rewarding experience in discovering her true art form.
